Well, I snuck onto the scale...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 249.4 lbs
 Goal Weight: 175.0 lbs
Pounds to Lose: 74.4 lbs
Well, I snuck onto the scale again today...248.6. Less than a pound in a week. I'm really unhappy about that. Perhaps I've hit my plateau after 30+ pounds. So I'm going to try something different. I mention this before, about reading a few posts on the myfitnesspal forum about people eating their exercise calories to achieve their net calories. Well, I've made a few friends on mfp and from looking at their food diaries, they're losing weight. So, I'm going to give it a try. My net calories is 1650. I've been around 1050 this week. So if I loose more weight this next week then my conclusion is that my body was in starvation mode despite eating 2300 calories a day (burning 1250 calories through exercise).

So I need to add about 600 calories. This morning I added another bowl of oats and raisin, bringing my breakfast to 1020 calories. I should finish around 1420 if I don't over do it at Outback. Starting tomorrow, I'll double my meat at lunch and dinner and add a honey peanut butter sandwich to my breakfast. I'll do this for a week and see what happens. I'll still walk 7 miles a day, however, at the end of the month I may reevaluate all that walking. If I cut back to 5 miles I'll still be considered active.

Black rice (or forbidden rice) sure adds a unique look to any dinner plate. Its taste is kind of nutty but not overpowering. Its definitely not as tasty as white, however, it doesn't taste as bland as brown. I'll probably will use it occasionally with my meals since it is rather expensive compared to white. I like that it fits in the 10:1 ratio (1 g of fiber to every 10 g of carbs). There's 7g of fiber and 41g of carbs in 1 cup (cooked), that's more than white or brown rice combined. I also like that black rice is a great source of antioxidants, hence, the reason why it's black. That being said, I would suggest everyone give it a try, just make sure you raise it before cooking.

I'm going to Outback Steakhouse for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. When I go to to Outback, I normally order Alice Springs Chicken & Aussie Fries; that's 1119 calories (57g carbs/65g fat/79g protein) in addition to eating half the Bread And Butter, 158 calories (25g carbs/5g fat/5g protein). I would like to try something different like the Simply Grilled Mahi & Fresh Seasonal Mixed Veggies, it has 479 calories (38g carbs/12g fat/53 protein). I've never had fresh Mahi. However, I could go with what I know and chose a small steak like the Outback Special 6 oz & Grilled Asparagus & Fresh Seasonal Mixed Veggies  for only 413 calories (16g carbs/16g fat/42 protein). I'll most likely go with the latter.

Tomorrow's Weigh-In Sunday...Blah!

UPDATE: I had the New Zealand Rack of Lamb & Grilled Asparagus & Fresh Seasonal Mixed Veggies; 764 calories (17 carbs/43g fat/65 protein). Kinda high on the fat but never had rack of lamb before. It was delicious. Oh of course, I also eat half the bread loaf.

"Jogging is very beneficial. It's good for your legs and your feet.
It's also very good for the ground. If makes it feel needed."
