It's that time again...time for grocery shopping. I have to buy for 5 weeks instead of 4 this time because my next payday isn't until for another 5 weeks. Luckily, I have a few surplus items, peanut butter, salmon, butter or rice, so I don't have to pay as much. I really need chicken because I have some in the freezer. Thing is, it's been soaked in marinade (caribbean jerk, teriyaki, and sesame ginger) and I don't exactly how I should calculate the calories for it. I guess I'll figure something out.
3 - containers of oats
2 - containers of raisins
2 - one gallon of 1% low fat milk
1 - 5 lb package of pork loins (thin-cut)
1 - 16 oz sirloin steak
1 - 3 lb package of ground beef (extra lean)
1 - 2 lb package of flounder fillets
2 - 2 lb package of cod fillets
10 - 2 lb package of baby carrots
7 - 2 lb package of sweet peas
45 - granny smith apples
1 - bag of potatoes
4 - loafs of honey wheat bread
4 - 3 oz package of popchips
1 - bottle of blue cheese salad dressing
1 - bottle of thousand island salad dressing
1 - 8 oz package of shredded cheese
1 - 3 oz jar of bacon bits
1 - 8 oz container of sour cream
3 - freezer bag (quart)
1 - freezer bag (gallon)
I've been contemplating if I want to have steaks and potatoes instead of hamburgers and chips on Saturday:
150 cals - 4 oz ground beef
120 cals - 1oz popchips
80 cals - 2 slices of honey wheat bread
50 cals - .5 tbsp mayo
20 cals - 1 tbsp ketchup
420 calories
VERSUS
240 cals - 4 oz sirloin steak
82 cals - .5 potato
30 cals - 1 tbsp sour cream
28 cals - .5 tbsp cheese
25 cals - .25 tbsp butter
25 cals - .5 tbsp bacon bits
0 cals - 1 tsp chives
430 calories
Well, despite having the potato loaded with all the fixing it fits in my meal plan. So guess who's having steak this weekend? That's right...this guy.

That is a lot of food! A sirloin steak sounds yummy. Good variety in your diet.
