Repeat after me...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 247.0 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0
Pounds to Lose: 72.0

Repeat after me, "No meat will touch my lips today."

"Easier said than done, " he whispers under his breath.

Ok, that's step one. Next step is to figure out what the hell to eat. For lunch, I had two portobello mushroom burgers with iceberg lettuce, mayo, and ketchup. I also had chips and salsa on the side. The burger was ok; I seasoned it with olive oil, sea salt and black pepper. The chips, Tostitos Artisan Recipes Grilled Red Pepper and Tomato Salsa, were delicious. I had plan on portobello steaks for dinner, but I opted to try the burger again. But this time I over seasoned the mushrooms. I didn't ever start on the second burger. It's in the trash. So my first Meatless Monday is a EPIC FAILURE! Next Meatless Monday, I'll just get some baked beans or some stew/soup. I can't wait for my 7pm snack so I can get the taste of mushrooms out my mouth. :-/

So I was browsing through posts on myfitnesspal and I stumbled upon a post by a user asking for grocery list suggestions.

A young woman responded:
"I just recently learned about powdered peanut butter. It tastes just like normal peanut butter but instead of being almost 200 cal. in 2 tablespoons, it's only 45 cal. I like to keep a jar of it in the house to eat with apples or celery. I'm a snacky person so I have to make sure to have healthy low cal snacks in the house. :)"
I was so thrilled to hear this I had to email the young woman:

"Thanks for posting about the powdered peanut butter. I never heard about it before. I love peanut butter and now, thanks to you, I can have it with less calories and fat. Awesome! :-)"
She replied:
"No problem I was super happy when I found out about it :) it's all natural and is only 1 gram less protein then other peanut butter. You can add it to shakes for peanut butter flavor protein shakes. I've tried the PB2 brand so I don't know if they all taste just as good. It reminds me of Reese's peanut butter."
So my quest begun. I found it on Amazon PB2 powdered peanut butter of less than $5. It has a score of 4.5 out of 5 star (736 customer reviews). Ok, I'm sold.

The label says "Superior quality peanuts are first slow roasted then pressed to remove 85% of the fat and oil. The result is an exquisitely natural roasted peanut butter flavor that's deliciously rich in taste, easy to enjoy and wonderfully healthy." The direction are easy, mix 2 tbsp of PB2 with 1 tbsp of water and stir until smooth.

And for you chocoholics, they have PB2 powdered peanut butter with premium chocolate.

Click Bell Plantation, for more information, recipes, and other products.

I'm going to order some this weekend. I'll give my review on it then.

I thought I had gained weight...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 247.0 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0
Pounds to Lose: 72.0
I thought I had gained weight from yesterday's rack of lamb, but I didn't. I'm down 2.4 pounds from last weigh in and a grand total of 34.8 lbs. Yah! I netted 1333 calories yesterday, still missed my goal of 1650. I would have had 1553 if I had 2 apples for my 7pm snack, but I fell sleep. Last night, I got almost 10 hours of sleep. I haven't done that in years.

I'm made a few friends on MyFitnessPal, even had one congratulated me on my weight loss today. I did delete two friends today, they haven't used MFP in over 10 days so I saw no need keep inactive people on my friend's list.

Since I decided to increased my calorie intake to meet my net calorie goal of 1650, I don't really feel the need to cheat today. I'm eating everything I want like rice, fruit smoothies, and peanut butter. What more could I possibly want? Well, maybe a million dollars but I can't eat that. :-)

I need to go to Walmart and buy some portobello mushrooms for tomorrow, Meatless Monday. I'm going grill some mushrooms. For lunch, a two portobello mushroom burgers with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. For dinner, a two portabello mushrooms (seasoned like a steak) with carrots, peas and broccoli.

TargetWeight

Last week, my BMI was 32.9 kg/m2, this week it's 32.6 kg/m2; I'm getting there slowly but surely.

I'm averaging too much saturated fat I think because I'm putting whole milk in my smoothie now and I was just using water, so I guess I'll go back to 1% low fat milk.

I walked a little slow this morning, it was raining and my ankles was killing me. Anyone know of a good pain reliever?

Let's go meatless...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 249.4 lbs
 Goal Weight: 175.0 lbs
Pounds to Lose: 74.4 lbs

Let's go meatless. Yeah, I said it. Go meatless. Bob Harper, personal trainer on The Biggest Loser, suggests we all go meatless at least one day a week. I know of other people doing this, so decided to give it a try. So from now on Monday will be known as Meatless Monday. I haven't quite decided what to eat yet for inaugural Meatless Monday. I'm thinking about buying some portobello mushrooms for either a burger or pasta. Maybe I can use the mushrooms to make "meatballs" for meatless spaghetti, I haven't had spaghetti in forever.

Meatless Spaghetti: Doesn't this look delicious?
I also need to find a way to incorporate the honey wheat bread and honey peanut butter I bought into my meal plan. Maybe I'll use it on my cheat day.

I posted an article about proteins from hellohealthy under Must-Reads.

I welcome any suggestions for Meatless Monday.
