Reaching my midway point...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 224.6 lbs
Goal Weight: 175 lbs
Pounds to Lose: 49.6
Reaching my midway point a couple of weeks ago really has gave me a newfound interest in losing weight. I was getting very complacent but now I feel like I'm on top of the world. I decided this week to only eat back the calories I burn outside of my normal schedule. For instance, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday I walked 2+ miles with my friend. So earned an extra 290 to 338 calories (equivalent to a nice size potato with all the fixin').

I followed my proposed plan to a "T", however, I didn't notice it was easier doing the leg extensions and hamstring curls this week so I plan to increase the weight next week.

SUNDAY
3-Mile Walk (4 mph @ 5% incline)
MONDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Lat Pulldown (10 sets x 5 reps @ 87 lbs)
High Row (10 sets x 5 reps @ 87 lbs)
TUESDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Leg Extension (10 sets x 5 reps @ 75 lbs)
Hamstring Curl (10 sets x 5 reps @ 76 lbs)
WEDNESDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Chest Press (5 sets x 5 reps @ 50 lbs)
Incline Press (5 sets x 5 reps @ 50 lbs)
Shoulder Press (5 sets x 5 reps @ 50 lbs)
THURSDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Leg Extensions (10 sets x 5 reps @ 75 lbs)
Hamstring Curls (10 sets x 5 reps @ 76 lbs)
FRIDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Lat Pulldown (10 sets x 5 reps @ 87 lbs)
High Row (10 sets x 5 reps @ 87 lbs)
SATURDAY
3-Mile Walk (4 mph @ 5% incline)

For those who are interested, my novel is coming along pretty well. I won't make the deadline this month but I will have it done by christmas <fingers crossed>.

Oh, the moment you all been waiting for...

So this week, I started lifting...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 226.8 lbs
Goal Weight: 175 lbs
Pounds to Lose: 51.8 lbs

So this week, I started lifting. I altered my plan quite a bit from what I proposed last week. Nothing ever happens the way you plan. I also tried running but my lower back and ankle were giving me problems so I decided to keep walking just at a faster pace.

So this was the proposed plan:

SUNDAY
3-Mile walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
MONDAY
1-Mile Run (7 mph @ 0% incline)
Lat Pulldown (5 sets x 5 reps)
High Row (5 sets x 5 reps)
TUESDAY
3-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
WEDNESDAY
1-Mile Run (7 mph @ 0% incline)
Leg Extension (5 sets x 5 reps)
Hamstring Curl (5 sets x 5 reps)
THURSDAY
3-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
FRIDAY
1-Mile Run (7 mph @ 0% incline)
Chest Press (5 sets x 5 reps)
Incline Press (5 sets x 5 reps)
Shoulder Press (5 sets x 5 reps)
SATURDAY
3-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)

But this is what I actually did::

SUNDAY
3-Mile Walk (4.3 mph @ 5% incline)
MONDAY
1.95-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 0% incline)
Lat Pulldown (20 sets x 5 reps @ 48 lbs)
High Row (20 sets x 5 reps @ 48 lbs)
TUESDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Leg Extension (10 sets x 5 reps @ 75 lbs)
Hamstring Curl (10 sets x 5 reps @ 44 lbs)
WEDNESDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Chest Press  (5 sets x 5 reps @ 41 lbs)
Incline Press  (5 sets x 5 reps @ 41 lbs)
Shoulder Press  (5 sets x 5 reps @ 61 lbs)
THURSDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Leg Extension (10 sets x 5 reps @ 75 lbs)
Hamstring Curl (10 sets x 5 reps @ 76 lbs)
FRIDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Lat Pulldown (20 sets x 5 reps @ 87 lbs)
Lat Pulldown (20 sets x 5 reps @ 113 lbs)
High Row (20 sets x 5 reps @ 87 lbs)
High Row (20 sets x 5 reps @ 113 lbs)
SATURDAY
3-Mile Walk (4 mph @ 5% incline)

This is my new proposed plan for the next two weeks:

SUNDAY
3-Mile Walk (4 mph @ 5% incline)
MONDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Lat Pulldown (10 sets x 5 reps @ 87 lbs)
High Row (10 sets x 5 reps @ 87 lbs)
TUESDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Leg Extension (10 sets x 5 reps @ 75 lbs)
Hamstring Curl (10 sets x 5 reps @ 76 lbs)
WEDNESDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Chest Press (5 sets x 5 reps @ 61 lbs)
Incline Press (5 sets x 5 reps @ 61 lbs)
Shoulder Press (5 sets x 5 reps @ 61 lbs)
THURSDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Leg Extensions (10 sets x 5 reps @ 75 lbs)
Hamstring Curls (10 sets x 5 reps @ 76 lbs)
FRIDAY
1.5-Mile Walk (5 mph @ 5% incline)
Lat Pulldown (10 sets x 5 reps @ 87 lbs)
High Row (10 sets x 5 reps @ 87 lbs)
SATURDAY
3-Mile Walk (4 mph @ 5% incline)

I will see how it works out and reevaluate after two weeks.

I've been craving sweets so I bought some Laughing Cow Cinnamon Cream, I'm had it for dessert, it was ok.

I tried...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 227.8 lbs
Goal Weight: 175 lbs
Pounds to Lose: 52.8 lbs
I tried Shaun T's Focus T25 on Monday, I was 8 minutes in when my ankle just couldn't take it anymore. I may give it another go after the new year. So I'm back to the original plan...start lifting weights. I've read I should start seeing results in 4 weeks. We will see. I came up with the following plan for the week:

Sunday - walk 3 miles
Monday - run 1 mile, 25 lat pulldowns, 25 high rows
Tuesday - walk 3 miles
Wednesday - run 1 mile, 25 leg extensions, 25 hamstring curls
Thursday - walk 3 miles
Friday - run 1 mile, 25 chest presses, 25 incline presses, 25 shoulder presses
Saturday Walk 3 miles

Here's what Focus T25 looks like:

P.S. I know I promised a new picture at the halfway mark, but I need to clean my bathroom first so check back tomorrow, there will be a new pic under About Me.

Last week, my BMI was 30.3 kg/m2, this week it's 30.1 kg/m2; I'm getting there slowly but surely. I'm just .8 lbs away from 227 lbs. Goodbye obese zone and Hello overweight zone...see you next week.

I know I said...

Sunday's weigh-In: 229.6 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0 lbs
Pounds to Lose: 54.6 lbs

I know I said I would start lifting weights this week but I decided to go a different route. I'm going to try Shaun T's Focus T25. It's a 10-week program. The program is 5 days a week, 25 minutes a day except on the 5th day Shaun T wants you do complete two workouts. I plan to do this in addition to my 3 miles on the treadmill. I also have his Insanity and Hip Hop Abs workout DVDs.

I have so much time on my hand  that I've been thinking about incorporating an evening stroll. Not for exercise but more of a leisure-take-in-the-fresh-air-and-view-the-beauty-surrounding-me-walk and today I did so with a friend. It was different walking with someone, I haven't done that since 2007 when I use to walk with my friend at Mt. Trashmore.

I haven't really wrote anything yet. I've still been working on the outline. I'm two days behind. I notice 2 of my writing buddies are behind as well, so I don't feel terribly bad.

I took pictures...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 232.0 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0 lbs
Pounds to Lose: 57.0 lbs
I took pictures of the gym equipment in my apartment's fitness center. I need to figure a plan of action for weight lifting. I was thinking of 5x5. 5 sets of 5 reps on each machine per exercise. I will probably get up earlier to to this so I'm alone in the fitness center. I read you should take a day off in between lifting weights so I guess Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday I'll walk/run 3 miles. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I'll walk/run 1 mile then do the 5x5.

And of course, free weights.
