So, I had a weird urge...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 245.2 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0
Pounds to Lose: 70.2

So, I had a weird urge to weigh myself this morning. I wasn't pleasantly surprised. It read 243.8. Now, why didn't it say that yesterday. I would have felt a whole lot better if I had lost 3.2 lbs yesterday.

I joined two challenges on myfitnesspal today:

TOPIC: Beginners challenge... 50 miles is October

The October Challenge.....

Walk, Jog, and/ or Run 50 miles. (or 60 miles if you are up for it )

Return to this thread and update you mileage daily or weekly, whatever works for you.

TOPIC: October 2013 MOVE IT 180-360+ minutes a Week Challenge!!

Are you ready to MOVE-IT??!!
Fall is here and we want to be ready to shed those pounds! This is the perfect time to re-commit or jump start your routine!
What are your fitness goals? Are you still getting in those workouts? Or are you just starting a workout program? Do you need a little more motivation? If so please join us.
We are a group who are committed to doing 180 to 360+ minutes of exercise each week (minimum 180). We count minutes for all types of intentional exercise: aerobics, walking, weight training, strength work, stretching or heavy gardening. You be the judge of whether it's exercise or not.
We're here to support, encourage, and set challenges for ourselves. It's all about intention. If we don't make the 180 to 360+ minutes one week, there's next week to go for it.
The weeks starts every Monday in the month and ends the following Sunday at midnight. Then we start all over again the following Monday for week 2, 3, and 4. (and some months week 5)
Newcomers are always welcome!
  MOVE-IT!!!
If at first you don't succeed, you keep trying...just keep coming back to report progress or non-progress...it doesn't matter...it keeps us accountable and that's how we commit to healthy lifestyles. It is a chance to meet new friends and encourage one another along the way.
You can use the form below OR make up your own. So who's in for Week #1,2,3, or 4 sometimes 5??
Week # 1 -- September 30th -- Goal 000 minutes:
Mon:
Tue:
Wed:
Thur:
Fri:

Since I do about 45 miles a day anyway, I'll do about 315 miles but I decided go with 300 minutes since I'm trying to get my 3-mile walk time down.

On top of these two, I'm in two weight loss challenges, Lose 15 lbs by Thanksgiving and Lose 20 lbs by Christmas.

I gonna be very busy keeping track of all these challenges.

Normally, I weigh myself...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 245.2 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0
Pounds to Lose: 70.2

Normally, I weigh myself immediately after my 3-mile walk; naked, I step on the scale three times and whatever number I get twice, that's what I go with but this morning I got three different numbers (245.6, 245.4, 245.2) so I weighed myself a fourth time. I was hoping to have lost 3 lbs this week but 1.8 lbs is good too, I guess. At this rate, it will take 35 weeks for me to reach my goal, June 1, 2014. That's 9 months from now! Blah!

I think everyone should have a support system; mine includes my roommate, my friends on facebookFitocracy and myfitnesspal. I want to thank them for keeping me motivated and keeping me accountable.

Playing around with Walkmeter, I found this. I weigh 15lbs less than I did this time last year. How awesome is that!

I'm not really having a cheat day today, however, I am having lamb which is out of the ordinary but I'm still staying with my allotted calories. The lamb was so delicious. I think it was seasoned with garlic, onions, and salt.

My new shoes are so comfortable. I really love them. My bum ankle is doesn't bother me as much when I walk in them. I'm still going to take this week a little slow so only 3 miles a day until I'm back at 100%, right now I feel like I'm at 80%.

TargetWeight

Last week, my BMI was 32.6 kg/m2, this week it's 32.3 kg/m2; I'm getting there slowly but surely. I'm 18.2 lbs away from the overweight zone. 227 lbs here I come!

Well, I've been eating...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 247.0 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0
Pounds to Lose: 72.0
Well, I've been eating back more of my exercise calories this week to see if it made a difference. Tomorrow, we will know if it did. Yep, that's right tomorrow is Weigh-In Sunday. I also had to make some adjustments the last few days because of my bum ankle. I still have reached my 1650 net calorie goal. Mainly, because I don't know how accurate Walkmeter is, so I leave a 200 calorie cushion.

Today, I wanted a burger so I had one for lunch and dinner. I seasoned them with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Instead of grilling the burgers, I steamed them in my food steamer. It's was quite different. I think next time I'll mix in some cheese and make the burgers extra scrumptious. I had some chips, the ones I bought for Meatless Monday, as my side. I don't know if I plan on furthering Meatless Monday, I'm still on the fence.

I'm so excited about tomorrow; no, it's not about weighing in....I'm having leg of lamb. After having rack of lamb at Outback last weekend, lamb has been on my mind.

Oh, one of my friends on mfp has his own channel on youtube, MudturtleMindandBody, check him out. Not only is he informative but he's very entertaining. Below is one of his videos.

I hope to have a body like this one day.

UPDATE: So I finish eating for today and I'm under my calories by 223 but I had the weird urge to go walk 2 miles before I go to bed since tomorrow is weigh-in time.

I went to...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 247.0 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0
Pounds to Lose: 72.0

I went to Rack Room Shoes today, you know the place where you buy one pair and get the second pair half off. How awesome is that? Anyway, I originally was going to get the Nike Free shoes, but when I tried them on I felt they were more for running and I have gotten there yet. So, I search further and came along these beautiful pair of shoes, Nike dual Fusion Lite, I just had to have them.

Nike Dual Fusion Lite (Navy/Orange)
Nike Dual Fusion Lite (Grey/Lime)

also went to Target and got two pairs of jogging pant, navy and gray. I picked up two shirts as well, neon orange and neon green. I tried on the shirts when I got home, they're are not long enough so I'm gonna have to return them. While I'm out I guess I'll donate my Nike Revolution Gen 1 (grey/blue) to Goodwill.

Yesterday, While at Walmart I wanted to try a different fish for Sunday, not that I'm tired of salmon. I could never be tired of salmon, that's my fish. I asked my friend what fish I should try, he suggested flounder. Well, I couldn't wait until Sunday so I tried flounder for the first time today for dinner, it was delicious. Even with just simple seasoning like olive oil spray, salt, and pepper, it was so tasty. I'm definitely going to add it to my meal plan. The next fish I plan to try is halibut.

If you have any fish recommendations, feel free to share them in the comments section.

I'm not feeling so hot today...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 247.0 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0
Pounds to Lose: 72.0
I'm not feeling so hot today...I've injured my right ankle a couple of weeks ago. I've been taking Aleve everyday until I read the side effects. Like I need a hole in my stomach along with cancer. No thank you. I wanted to continue walking 7 miles until the end of the month but I can't do it anymore. I can't take the pain anymore so I'm going take it slow the next few days. I still going to do my 3-mile walk. I've adjusted my meal plan according, so no more double meat or peanut butter sandwiches.

So I had my first piece of chicken today in over a month. It was so good; I seasoned it with salt, pepper, and olive oil spray. I was a tad disappointed about my portion. It was 4oz raw and shrunk to 2.75oz. I need more meat. :-/

I don't think I'm going to make my first goal on this Sunday. My goal was to be 240 lbs, I think I'll probably be 245 lbs. I know that's not too much off but I wanted to be under my goal. Well, there's always next month.

I joined two challenges on myfitnesspal, one is lose 15 pounds by Thanksgiving and they other is lose 20 pounds by Christmas. I hope I can achieve this goals. Actually, I hope I can loose more. I've never been a patient person. I need instant gratification. I use to not have a problem loosing weight before but of course I was starving myself. Once, I took 3 weeks off from work to lose weight. I would go to the gym and burn 500 calories on the treadmill and then come home and only eat 600 calories. If I was hungry I would go to sleep. I lost 30 lbs.

I'm so glad I know how to embed videos now so I can share this commercial for the multivitamin I use. This is exactly how it makes me feel. LOL.

Speaking of vitamins, there's a new article from helloheathy on vitamins & minerals, check it out.

I'm feeling lazy today...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 247.0 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0
Pounds to Lose: 72.0
I'm feeling lazy today. I did my walks as usual but I don't feel like doing anything else. I want to crawl under the covers and watch TV.

Well, I forced myself to go shopping. I got everything but bananas and apples. The Walmart I was at didn't have the large granny smith apples I like nor did they have enough of bags of salmon so I'll go to another one tomorrow. Oh, guess what I found at Walmart...PB2. I was so surprised to see it there. They had both the regular and the one with chocolate. I'm going to try both tonight for my 7pm snack. Now that I have freed up more calories (a serving of PB2 is 45, a serving of regular peanut butter is 190), I need eat more food. I'll figure something out, I guess.

I joined two groups on fitocracy, 100+ pounds to lose and Weight Loss.

I posted:
Sunday, I weighed 247 lbs. That's 2.4 lbs lost since my previous weigh-in and 34.8 lbs total since June 9, 2013. Another 74 lbs to go. :-D
I got 20 props and 2 congratulations. I'm now following all of those who gave me props and they're following me back. Awesome!

Well, not much to say today. I hope everyone is doing well.

After about 250 miles of service...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 247.0 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0
Pounds to Lose: 72.0

After about 250 miles of service, it's time to bid adieu to my Nike Revolution Gen 1 (black/red), they have served me well through the rain, duck poo, and other obstacles along my walking route.

I still have the other pair of Nike Revolutions Gen 1 (blue/gray) but I can't walk long periods in them for some odd reason the shoes rub against my heel. Remember that horrible blister I had last month from walking 5 miles in them. I'll probably donate them to Goodwill. So that being said, it's time to buy some new walking/running shoes. I like loud colors and unique styles. I searched Zappos and narrowed it down the five shoes below; they range from $70 to $100. I never been a real PUMA fan before but I notice 3 of the 5 are PUMAs. I started a poll (on the right) for you to help me choose. Which shoe do you like?

Nike Free 5.0+ (Gym Red)
PUMA Bioweb Elite Glow (Hawaiian Ocean)

PUMA Cell Gen NM (Fluro Orange)
addias Running adipure CrazyQuick (Vivid Yellow)
PUMA Mell Es Suga (Jasmine Green)

Tomorrow's pay day so you know what that means...grocery shopping time. I'm going to try and mix it up a little, all last month I only had two meats, pork loins and salmon. I'm going to throw chicken and extra lean ground beef in the mix. I would like to find another fish but nothing seems to compare to salmon. If you know of one let me know.

You won't believe the math that goes into figuring out how much I need to buy a month.

MONTHLY GROCERY LIST
6 - 2lb package of salmon
1 - 2.25lb package of ground beef (extra lean)
1 - 5lb package of chicken
1 - 2.75lb package of pork loins (thin cut)
12 - 2lb package of frozen sweet peas
3 - 4lb package of frozen broccoli
5 - 2lb pack of black rice
2 - container of oats (old fashion)
2 - jar of honey peanut butter
1 - container of california raisins

BIWEEKLY GROCERY LIST
1 - loaf of honey wheat bread
1 - one gallon of 1% lowfat milk
2 - 2lb package of baby carrots
4 - bags of granny smith apples
2 - bunches of bananas

I spend about $300 on food a month. Why does it cost so much to eat healthy?

Repeat after me...

Sunday's Weigh-In: 247.0 lbs
Goal Weight: 175.0
Pounds to Lose: 72.0

Repeat after me, "No meat will touch my lips today."

"Easier said than done, " he whispers under his breath.

Ok, that's step one. Next step is to figure out what the hell to eat. For lunch, I had two portobello mushroom burgers with iceberg lettuce, mayo, and ketchup. I also had chips and salsa on the side. The burger was ok; I seasoned it with olive oil, sea salt and black pepper. The chips, Tostitos Artisan Recipes Grilled Red Pepper and Tomato Salsa, were delicious. I had plan on portobello steaks for dinner, but I opted to try the burger again. But this time I over seasoned the mushrooms. I didn't ever start on the second burger. It's in the trash. So my first Meatless Monday is a EPIC FAILURE! Next Meatless Monday, I'll just get some baked beans or some stew/soup. I can't wait for my 7pm snack so I can get the taste of mushrooms out my mouth. :-/

So I was browsing through posts on myfitnesspal and I stumbled upon a post by a user asking for grocery list suggestions.

A young woman responded:
"I just recently learned about powdered peanut butter. It tastes just like normal peanut butter but instead of being almost 200 cal. in 2 tablespoons, it's only 45 cal. I like to keep a jar of it in the house to eat with apples or celery. I'm a snacky person so I have to make sure to have healthy low cal snacks in the house. :)"
I was so thrilled to hear this I had to email the young woman:

"Thanks for posting about the powdered peanut butter. I never heard about it before. I love peanut butter and now, thanks to you, I can have it with less calories and fat. Awesome! :-)"
She replied:
"No problem I was super happy when I found out about it :) it's all natural and is only 1 gram less protein then other peanut butter. You can add it to shakes for peanut butter flavor protein shakes. I've tried the PB2 brand so I don't know if they all taste just as good. It reminds me of Reese's peanut butter."
So my quest begun. I found it on Amazon PB2 powdered peanut butter of less than $5. It has a score of 4.5 out of 5 star (736 customer reviews). Ok, I'm sold.

The label says "Superior quality peanuts are first slow roasted then pressed to remove 85% of the fat and oil. The result is an exquisitely natural roasted peanut butter flavor that's deliciously rich in taste, easy to enjoy and wonderfully healthy." The direction are easy, mix 2 tbsp of PB2 with 1 tbsp of water and stir until smooth.

And for you chocoholics, they have PB2 powdered peanut butter with premium chocolate.

Click Bell Plantation, for more information, recipes, and other products.

I'm going to order some this weekend. I'll give my review on it then.
